Mocama Brewing Company will use a variety of channels to increase its exposure among prospective customers, including, but not limited to:

Taproom
The primary and by far most cost-effective marketing tool we have is the delivery of an immersive brand experience to customers visiting our taproom. We will engage customers with a constant focus on the important goal of igniting a relationship, providing rich experiences, meaningful narratives, and one-on-one attention from our staff. Our taproom will convey a message that matches the other components of our brand. The atmosphere of the taproom will establish a context of creativity that will also be evident in the varieties of beer we serve. The visual appeal of the exterior of the brewery, the biergarten, and the production area is paramount to creating an environment where customers have a compelling, memorable, multi-sensory experience. The smell of fresh hops, crushed grain, and fermentation will reinforce the fact that Mocama is a flavor factory. Locals and tourists alike will leave our taproom as converts to our message, believers in our story.

Industry Night

Once per quarter, Mocama will host a private event open only to industry professionals. We will offer free or steeply discounted beers for owners and employees of the restaurants, bars, hotels, and liquor stores that recommend and sell our beers. Their support is key to our continued success, and we want to make sure they know we are incredibly thankful for their efforts. For our accounts in Jacksonville and St. Augustine, we will rotate the location of similar quarterly events. The cost of these events will be shared with our distributor.

Mocama will engage Craftpeak, an Asheville, NC based web design and interactive marketing agency focused solely on the craft beverage space, to design and host our website. Their clientele consists of a select group of highly differentiated breweries and craft beer retailers. Craftpeak services and advice will optimize our online presence and make the Mocama website a powerful business tool for driving revenue and building customer loyalty. Our website will be uniquely designed around our brand with a focus on responsive design to deliver an optimal experience from any device. Search engine optimization will be built into the site from inception. They build every site to load as fast as possible. Their proprietary tools enable us to manage content effortlessly, keeping our site up to date with news and events. Their custom Social Sidebar lets visitors interact with our social media accounts without ever leaving the site. Subscribers who sign up for our newsletters are more likely to attend events and spend money regularly.

In a country with over 6,000 brewing establishments and more opening every day, Mocama's marketing efforts will seek to differentiate our products and our brand whenever possible. The level of sophistication in the beer world has increased to the point that beer is now thought about in a culinary setting in much the same way wine is. Taking cues from the farm-to-table and slow food movements, Mocama will brew culinary beers (often called botanical beers) whose recipes call for fresh produce, herbs, botanicals and spices. We may forage for these ingredients, but more often procure them close to home from farmers we have long standing relationships with. Successful culinary brewing results in balanced beers with discernible layers of flavors and aromatics that pair especially well with food. This is the intersection of the farm, the kitchen, and the brewhouse that is bringing chefs and brewers into the same sphere, tying the whole farm-to-table-to-glass process together.
Market research indicates that craft beer consumers seek experiences where beer is presented from the culinary side as a versatile beverage with a variety of flavors that pair extraordinarily well with food. Culinary beers and pairings add a dimension and allow consumers to be more experimental than they would in their normal day to day beer selections. They break habits. For this reason, Mocama will collaborate with chefs and restaurants across many culinary genres to educate our guests and highlight our capabilities in this field. Mocama will work closely with chefs to host VIP beer dinners at their restaurants, pairing not only our core beers but also beer brewed especially for the chef and their cuisine. We will also work with them to design memorable, high quality epicurean experiences using our commercial kitchen and serving sought after culinary beers, popular special releases, and rare sours and wood aged beers alongside their pairings in our taproom. We will make sure to have members of the beer and culinary press at these events.
Why? Because chefs live and work to intoxicate their guests, and giving a chef the opportunity to pair beers that we custom tailor to their food is a powerful tool to have in their arsenal. These chefs, their fans, the owners and staff of their restaurants will embrace the Oktopus brand and the experiences it makes possible. Mocama will occupy mindshare and be the centerpiece of their beer program.

Social Responsibility
Every time we release a 1% For The Planet beer, we will host a taproom event to financially benefit and raise awareness for our nonprofit partners. These beneficiaries will primarily be based in our key distribution markets. 1% For The Planet specialty beer releases will allow us to meet our nonprofit partners face-to-face and enable us to speak knowledgeably and passionately about their work for the duration of the campaign. Experience has shown that the additional awareness created by our events results in significant follow on financial contributions for our partners.
Mocama Concours d’Brasserie
Not really a competition of breweries, this event will be held later in the spring than the Concours d’Elegance. The Concours d’Brasserie is an invitation only international beer festival hosted by Mocama. Select breweries from around the world will be invited to pour at the event. Key breweries will receive airfare and lodging courtesy of the event, arriving by Wednesday afternoon. Mocama’s taproom will serve selected beers (in limited quantities) produced by our invited guests during the week leading up to the Concours. In addition, we will host a ticketed event on Thursday evening to welcome all brewers, show our appreciation for their support and their long journey to Amelia Island. Friday is reserved for free time on Amelia for our guest brewers. Guests will be encouraged to stay at the event’s official hospitality partner, the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island or the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort.

The Festival itself will take place over two sessions on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. We will offer VIP passes for early admission (90 minutes prior) and access to special release beers at a premium to the general admission price. The location will be in a salon or ballroom at the resort, and if weather permits, open to the outdoors. Food will be offered with tickets available for purchase in advance.

Over time we will grow this event to be the preeminent international beer festival in the South. This is a marketing opportunity that will also be profitable. Events like these serve to reinforce our brand identity with the general public on a mass scale. We also increase awareness of our brewery in the industry while also allowing potential distributors and retail accounts to become familiar with the Mocama brand, our distinctive products, and our team.

Music
The founders of Mocama are long time fans of live music. “Music is the medicine of the mind” is an old saying that recent research indicates is true. Attending a concert elevates one’s mood and reduces the release of cortisol and other stress hormones. Enjoying live music in the presence of other, like-minded people is a positive communal experience that builds connection and community. People who regularly attend music events report a higher sense of well-being than those who don’t. Breweries are in a unique position to create and grow a ‘Concert Brand’ that becomes a reliable and successful musical experience for attendees with minimal effort and expense. Oktopus will host live music in our taproom with a focus on exceptional audio quality and extremely talented musicians. Our outdoor biergarten will be thoughtfully designed to include a stage for occasional use while also remaining compliant with local noise ordinances.

We will also work with music venues in Jacksonville to design concert series that match our brand and clientele. Ideally, we could host well known artists and bands at the brewery for an acoustic or short set prior to their concerts in Jacksonville.

Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance
The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance is an automotive charitable event held each year during the second weekend in March at The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island in Amelia Island, Florida. A concours d'elegance (French, literally "a competition of elegance") is according to the New York Times a "beauty pageant for rare and elegant cars". Each year's Amelia Island Concours honors an outstanding person from motorsports, a featured Marque (manufacturer) or theme, plus judging and awards for each class of the Field of Dreams, the showcase exhibition. Events have included a golf tournament, automobile auctions, art and fashion shows, silent auctions of memorabilia, charity raffles and autograph sessions. Many of the competing cars are valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, with some worth millions. For this reason, along with its setting and amenities, the Amelia Island Concours is considered one of the premier concours in the world.

This event provides Mocama an incredible opportunity to reach a diverse, sophisticated, ultra high net worth consumer. In addition to hosting special events and showcasing marquee vehicles at the brewery, we will also provide our guests with an offering of aptly titled classic beers invoking classic cars and the enthusiasts that passionately restore and race these amazing machines. These beers will be as rare and distinctive as the cars displayed and judged at the Concours, with names like Domo Arigato Mr. Zagato, Sir Jackie Scotch Ale, Alfisti(an Alfa Romeo fanatic), Pfaffenhausen Pure Bavarian Lager, Unicorno Rampante, Berlinetta Weiss, Ettoir, Enzo, Elon, Zora, Ferry. The list of potential tasteful, humorous, conversation inspiring names is too lengthy to list here.
